Thrips typicus Masumoto & Okajima, 2013
This species is mainly collected from the flowers of Asteraceae such as Solidago virgaurea, Jacobaea cannabifolia, Cirsium in the mountainous area of Honshu, Japan, at July to September. It is similar to T. brevicornis Priesne and T. setosus Moulton but T. brevicornis can be distinguished from this species by uniformly pale body and T. setosus can be distinguished from this species by dark fore wing with base pale. Moreover, T. typicus is similar to a European species, T. fulvipes Bagnall, 1923 but the later species can be distinguished from the former species by having more slender and longer antennae, and segments III and IV with distinct apical neck.
